Horizon Commercial Realty broker Suzanne Day Cheek represented Menards Inc. in the purchase of multiple properties in South Louisville. The location will be the home improvement chain’s first Louisville store.

The company filed a zoning preapplication with Louisville Metro Government on Monday to rezone several properties along Cooper Chapel Road, Preston Highway and Maple Springs Drive from residential to commercial use.
That would allow for the construction of a one-story, 200,000-square-foot home improvement store on the 33-acre site, currently divided among multiple landowners, according to the filings with the city. The company also has filed for a parking waiver with the city to reduce the number of required parking spaces.
